A Look Back at LIVES Day 2026

30/06/2026

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the LIVES Center took over the Uni Mail campus in Geneva for another successful edition of LIVES Day. This event provides a unique opportunity for all LIVES members to explore the diversity of research projects being conducted within our network.

The event featured two keynote speeches that opened and closed the day: one by Nicolas Sommet (UNIL) in the early afternoon on the impact of poverty on mental health, and one by Anahita Mehrpour (UNIGE) at the end of the day, focusing on the digital well-being of young adults. Between these two highlights, the afternoon featured 36 flash presentations  organized into parallel sessions. These flash presentations explored six major themes: Family dynamics, Long-term effects, Health, Education, Methods & tools, Discrimination & inequality.

This year, we were delighted to bring together a dynamic community of about 90 participants, reflecting the vitality of research on life courses. Beyond scientific rigor, the goal of LIVES Day is to unite the community, foster interdisciplinary exchanges, share methodological innovations, and strengthen collaborations to better understand human trajectories in all their complexity. To wrap up the day on a festive note, a cocktail reception was held starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Lucha Libre bar, providing a much-appreciated opportunity for informal networking.

A big thank you to the speakers from UNIGE and UNIL for the quality of their presentations and discussions.
